Hello, guys. I'm a fresh here and going to buy my first camera Canon PowerShot SX520 16Digital Camera with 42x Optical (I saw it on http://www.comparaboo.com/best-cameras). If you're a current user, what's your own experience been like?
I don't have this camera but had a Canon PowerShot SX200 IS. You will find it a handy camera with decent image quality for something in this price range. The major weaknesses that finally pushed me to an Olympus E-M10 were the chromatic aberration (color fringing) in telephoto shots and having to use an LCD screen in bright sunlight. Having a long zoom range in a compact body is useful and increases the liklihood that you'll actually carry the camera with you.
I have a Canon Powershot G9 - Its a 12Mpx pocket shooter which also has a great built in zoom (6x optical plus a digital zoom I never used)
It came out in 2007 so its long in the tooth now, but it still works great and has been a hugely useful camera all that time.
You can find them used for $100 or less now ...
I still have it, and its still useful, but I bought a used Pentax K-x DSLR
last year and have been playing with that more ...
AF & better zoom, but you deal with interchangeable lenses and all of that SLR stuff ...
But I think your CameraBooBoo is a spammy site, Julie ...
