Revox B215

Hi. I hope you are All good. I have a problem with my Revox B215. Checked some forums but didn’t find what I’m looking for. To the point: My old trusty deck developped some strange sickness -it plays nice but input signal is very high and disturbing when switched to source, and then it records this way. Going down with level buttons on the front to zero not helping. Distortion is on high and low parts of the songs, middle are ok. I hope I explained myself clearly! Please any suggestions what this could be ?

I don't work on them now but the deck probably needs service by a Technician. Gerhard in Florida one of my trainees can work on them and Dan in North IL has worked on them and has one there now. They can be finicky and from the discussions I have had with technicians I would not have one. Give me a ZX7 anyday. If you need contact infor for these Technicians I can provide by PM.

All Revox B215 require the electrolytic caps replaced. The Philips and Frako caps do not age well. If you delay replacement long enough, a bad cap will end up taking out something expensive or irreplaceable like a custom programmed chip.
