Revox B780 right channel issue

Since I already bumped this up, I have another small issue with this B780. When I first power it up, there is always a certain amount of AC hum from the transformer, which also is induced in to the signal line and can be heard. Its not really loud, but certainly can be heard if I select a silent input. After it warms up, maybe 5 minutes or so, the external level of hum has gradually reduced, but is still there, just at an acceptable level and no longer heard on any source.

I checked, and all the AC values remain unchanged the whole time, and the entire unit has been recapped. It has been this way for years.

Normal? I wouldn’t think so, but transformers come up on ebay occasionally. They are easy to swap out. Anyone else have this issue?

Any ideas?
 
I am definitely showing my age. (And I’m only 64!) I just found a post from only a year ago where txturbo gave me the same excellent advice and it solved the imbalance issue then. I had zero memory of that thread until I reread it! Doh!!! I didn’t even remember that I swapped power amp boards & changed the DIN (tape monitor) dropping resistors. I even wrote notes in my copy of the B780 SM, had I bothered to pull it out!!!

I have the same problem with my B780. How did you clean this switch? How toopen it - it seems to be covered/closed with something like inelastic pertinax.
