Hello all,
I have a standard speed model Revox G36 in very nice physical shape and will be replacing the selenium rectifiers, electrolytics and upping the cathode follower output caps.
My questions are -
If I were to disconnect the g36 motors (which I wouldn't be using at low speeds and don't want to restore) and use the transport of a remote 15IPS A77, using only the g36 heads and electronics (I have new g36 heads that fit the A77) would this affect functionality of the rest of the unit?
If not, would anything need to be done to trick the machine into thinking it is in different modes, erasing, etc., or would the G36 transport buttons still function as usual?
I also understand the bias might need to be modified to accommodate the change in speed, but I don't know where to start on that.
Any advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you
