We've got tickets to see Richard Thompson next week, but just learned that the show is postponed :(

For those who have tickets to the upcoming April shows, we're sorry to bear the bad news that Richard received a scorpion sting while on vacation in Mexico, incapacitating his right hand for an expected 2-3 weeks.

Reluctantly, he is forced to postpone all of the April shows until later in the year, but expects to be back up to speed in time for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on May 2.

Well crap Rich, I hate that on both counts. It's good to hear he's going to try to do makeup dates when he's better.

David and I are finally gonna see McCoy Tyner this evening after he fell ill and postponed his January 31st show in Detroit.
 
Well, I hope he makes a full recovery. It really sucks when something you are really looking forward to gets postponed!
 
I love Thompson, but there's something darkly comic/ironic about this. Perhaps it just sounds so much like one of his song titles.
