Right channel stops working when volume is low

Amp in question is Adcom GCA 510. Already happend when i bought it then i took it for cleaning and after a year it started happening again.
So it works perfectly fine when volume is decently high (above 10-15% on amp and 100% in windows) and when i want to listen slightly quieter sometimes right channel just stops working suddenly. The moment i increase volume it comes back, or i just spam windows volume slider and it comes back on, for a brief period. When it works, balance on both channels is perfect and both sound equal.
Seems like dirty contacts somewhere but idk where, any thoughts? i'd like to fix this myself because it seems like a minor issue.

Those are fuses. A relay would typically be a box shaped thing. In most gear its the thing you hear go "click" a couple seconds after hitting the power button. Not everything has one though, and I don't have a schematic to look at for this one.

agree it does sound like dirty contacts somewhere though. If it doesn't have a relay, does it have a speaker A/B switch, or a tape monitor switch? Both of those are common problem spots.

None of those, only a single pair of speakers, balance, listening and recording knob. I know how relay sounds as i had a hk pm665 before this, but adcom doesn't seem to have any protection at all.
 
maybe time for the chopstick test. Get the channel to drop out and gently tap around with something non-conductive to see if it comes back to life.

Never heard of this before. I'll give it a go. Although internet seems to use this method on tube amps only, but i'll try anyway
 
It works on anything that might have bad solder joints or loose connections. On a circuit board it doesn't always pin down the very specific part but it can often get you to a reasonably sized area to look in.

Tried the stick test, nothing. Then i tried simply changing the source and switching from cd to aux in, just changing rca inputs, no dropouts so far. Maybe one of them had a cold solder or sum?
 
yeah crusty contacts would do it. Get enough signal and it will blow through the corrosion and work until it decides to not.
