Hi I've just got a pair of old Russian? Speakers
On the back they have rigonda vef electro acoustic unit

They have regular speaker wire coming out of the back

On top in din inputs for radio . Turntable. On switch
Several adjustment knobs and an input for 9v

Are these supposed to be powered speakers?
Does each one need power?
How do the connect?
Can the be used unpowered ?

Hi! I have the same unit. It powers up from the UK mains. It is essentially a mono active speaker, producing excellent sound. The only problem with mine is that the volume resistor perished and I cannot find the replacement as I cannot figure out the marking properly. Otherwise and excellent piece of hifi. I am puzzled why it is made mono. I heard there should be another one which can be somehow connected to be used as a stereo set-up. I have not been able to find much about it on the web even though I speak Russian. Mine was purchased in the UK as a single mono unit back in the early 70s. So I was told.
