Very sad news. I am glad to have seen him play live.

[Decatur Greg]

A great loss!! I wish I had seen them perform live.

I didn't know what prompted them to form a band until I read the Rolling Stone article today:

"The original members of Devo grew up in Akron, Ohio, and were inspired form a band after personally witnessing the Kent State massacre in 1970."

I saw them play live up in Belingham Wa. some 25+ years ago and had a great time.
RIP Bob. Thanks for the music.

Devo was a major part of my misspent college years. I happened to catch them headlining Lollapalooza one year, and still rank it as one of my all-time favorite concert experiences. Thanks for the music, Bob. :tears:

sad news! I never really "got" Devo when they were current and it wasn't till later I realized how talented they are/were!
RIP Bob.

Oh no, The Next DEVOtional is going to be a memorial show for sure. Reverend Bob Casale, of The Church of The Sub-Genius, will be missed. Praise Bob!

Are we not Men ? RIP, Bob..

Liking DEVO was like a secret handshake when I was in high school. Both nerdy and cool.

"Strange Pursuit" is my fave DEVO song. Duty Now for the Future was produced by Ken Scott (he produced Ziggy Stardust). And we all know Eno did the first album. Tremendously good band.

I never listened to them much, but this photo always puts a smile on may face. Which one is Casale?

I was unaware. Thanks for the post, OP.

Well, he was not man, he was DEVO. That's the epitaph I will remember. RIP.

I consider myself very good at recognising faces but these guys in Devo photos were sometimes hard to put a name to, except for Mark M.
I think the guy in your pic is Gerald Casale.

My thoughts exactly... First song I appreciated was Beautiful World. Then their cover of Satisfaction is so great. The video for Whip It is hilariously good.

It is hard the group photo was heavyly photoshopped.
