The celebrated and cerebral producer and arranger for The Beatles has passed away at age 90.
Part avant-garde composer, part hack arranger, part brilliant electronics inventor, part virtuoso audio engineer, George Martin is best remembered as the man who signed the Beatles in 1962. Never given the respect due him, he nevertheless seemed to enjoy a low key life, despite having produced what are arguably the greatest records of all time.
RIP, George Martin.
