Rip Vinyl with C32 Pre

parkcitygolf

Searching for the sound.
Ive been doing some homework on this and cant find any answers. I have my c32 aux connected to my schiit dac that is connected to a pc i use with jriver for my digital tracks. Id like to use jriver to record the incoming audio from vinyl. Its probably not as difficult as I am making it.

Thanks :music:

Turntable -> C32 Phono
C32 Tape Out -> DAC analog input (and make sure Phono is selected on the C32 Record switch)
DAC digital output -> computer digital input

Does your DAC convert in that direction? That is, from an analog source to a digital output? If not, you may need to send the analog Tape Out signal from the C32 into an analog audio input on your computer, in which case the A-to-D conversion would take place in the computer's sound card.

EDIT: All the Schiit DACs I've been looking up seem to be D->A only, not A->D.

Don't take it as gospel because I'm not 100% confident in recording vinyl digitally but I believe you could set up something using the tape record out of the preamp.

I'm interested in hearing an answer from someone more familiar.

Schiit says I need an analog to digital converter. Any ideas on a decent one of those? Ive never even seen those before.
