what kind of gear are folks using to rip LPs? are you buying new and immediately ripping? what kind of software, what rate are you capturing at? 24.192? How are the one-step LPs when ripped..??

Ok I have a lot of questions. I'd like to start ripping my better LPs, after I get my cart and SUT settled. I have a Focusrite 2 into 1 that I think could work if I use the 1/4: usb adapters..

please share your insights.. how often do you buy, rip? easy peasy? pain in the A?

I've used a HRT Line Streamer for needle drops. Never purchase any *new* vinyl that was digitally recorded as I'd rather start with the master.

I use it for old vinyl that I cannot find in digital formats. Attach ADC to tape output on your preamp and feed the output via USB to a laptop. I use the free application Audacity to capture the digital stream into 96/24. Not difficult, but understand that the result is a single file for the entire album side. You must manually break it into separate tracks and enter the metadata yourself.

Not particularly fun. And unless you get a stellar ADC (mine is not), signal quality will suffer.
