Road Trip Recommendations

I'm incredibly new to Audio Karma, (and I must say I'm loving the atmosphere) and I'm going to be going on a road trip tomorrow. On my trip, I'd like to pick up a nice pair of vintage speakers, but my experience in this field is sorely limited. I'm looking to spend not much more than 300 bucks, and am asking for recommendations in that range for me to look out for. Detail, clarity, and decay are most important to me, and I tend to stay away from warm sounding stuff, but it's not a deal breaker. Thanks in advance!

A great way to go would be subscribe so you can gain access to bartertown. Then you can post a WTB and explain your route and desires and see what other members offer up.
Also of course look at Craigs List along your route.
Yamaha N-xxxx, Infinity, JBL, Polk all come to mind with your description above. YOu will be bumping a ceiling with numerous models in those brands but you might be able to dig something up. Infinity CS-3007/3009 would be fantastic. Folks here will want to know what your power source is.

Thank you for the input! Currently I have three amps, an Emotiva BasX, a Yamaha RX V677, and a Linn LK1 LK2 pre/power. I'll take all of your advice, much appreciated. Along with those brands, I'm also keeping my eye out for some KLH's or Dynaco's, hopefully I find something good!

The KLH and Dynaco options will have a warm east coast/New England sound as it is referred to around these parts. Which I love.

I'm kinda struggling to figure out what bartertown is or how to access it, are you able to send/PM the details?
Curious where you are travelling to and from?
I'm going to Marquette from Dayton. Will be stopping by DC as well.

Okay, so far, the only interesting pair I'm finding is a very odd pair from Yamaha. NS-15's, anyone know anything about them?

I ended up buying the following,
Infinity RS 6001 (I've fixed)
KLH Model 10 (still imperfect)
KLH Model 17 (still imperfect)
AR18 (I've fixed)
Baby Advent II (I've fixed)
Mini Advent (still imperfect)
Technics SB A35 (bought functional)
Marantz Imperial 5G (bought functional)
JBL P40 (bought functional)
JBL LX 44 (still imperfect)
BIC Venturi V52 (still very much imperfect)
Yamaha S110H II Oak (still imperfect)
Fisher XP 2A (still imperfect)
Spent 350 for the lot, fixing them up is proving to be a very fun project. I'm loving the ones I've fixed, especially the Infinities. Thank you for the recommendations.

Well that's getting to it in style! You've got plenty to play with for a while.
