Rogers LS6 - Any opinions on this model?

Hi. I am considering purchasing a pair of LS6 with stands. I was looking for a slightly smaller speaker, but think these might work in my smallish room. I am a fan of British made speakers and have a pair of Spendor SP-1 speakers that I have enjoyed for many years.

I have only had experience with Rogers Studio 1A, which at the time and in my room using various vintage tube components I found a little too forward, which I attributed to the metal dome tweeters.

I would be using the LS6 in a smaller room with either tube or solid state (most likely digital) amplification. What I like about my Spendor SP-1 is that they are very balanced IMO and easy on the ears. They are also not picky about room placement and the bass is not overwhelming, which I have found seems to often happen when I try to place speakers that are too big in a small room.

Can I expect similar performance from the LS-6? Any opinions would help. They aren't expensive so this is not about cost. It's really that I do not need another pair of speakers, but they British made so my interest is piqued.

Rogers speaker designation can be a bit confusing at times but I assume you are talking about the L6 which is a small bookshelf speaker rather than the larger LS 3/6. Here is some info I found on it

A SEAS tweeter is always a good start. Roger’s woofers could be a bit fragile so I would check to see if they have the original drivers.

My experience with Rogers is with my LS3/6’s. Based on that experience and the fact the LS6’s are a smaller bookshelf speaker I would not expect them to rock out too much. However I would expect Jazz and Acoustic music will sound quite good. If you could grab them at a good price and the drivers are original I think you would be happy with them. Good luck!!

Wolverine, thanks for the reply and information. These were part of a complete system that was for sale. I had a tentative arrangement to buy just the speakers on Monday morning but someone else bought the whole system this morning. So it goes...

Thanks! I'll get the next one. These were over an hour's drive away but the seller was heading to my area on Monday so I took a chance and waited. Close but no cigar. I already have a pair of Spendor SP-1 and was hoping these had a similar sound.
