image.jpg image.jpg Any tips on troubleshooting intermittent sputters and pops?

I recapped the power supply. Figured it would need to be done eventually even if not the culprit. Also retouched some solder joints that looked dry and reconnected one part of the circuit using wire, where the pcb is cracked.

I don’t think it’s the keybed, tone generator, or gate board because the organ raw out jack seems clear of any weird pops and clicks. Also the vibrato seems fine as this is part of the organ raw out signal. Both the stereo output and headphone output have the problem. I went ahead and cleaned up all the switches, pots, and sliders with some deoxit and was extra careful to make sure there was nothing stuck in the slider housing.

At this point, I’m not sure what to do. It’s still making some intermittent *cshshshhshsh* sounds that are pretty loud and make it unusable in a musical situation. I thought of 3 options thought not sure any are right.

(1) Should I go through and change any suspicious looking caps (there are a few whose legs are green instead of shiny metal, makes me think some if the electrolytic juice may have leaks down them?)

(2) It’s still got the factory 2-prong cord on it. Should I put a 3-prong cord on it so it’s got ground?

(3) Should I get an oscilloscope so I can see the wave forms and go through it one bit at a time?

Any added insight is appreciated.
