I have too many receivers.
My Sansui 771 has been sitting in the corner for 6 months or so. I refurbished it last year because it developed nasty cracking noises after warming up. New caps and transistors took care of that, but I set it aside to play with new toys.
I pulled it out for a listen this evening. I am listening to the 771 right now, playing my Jewel "Spirit" CD through a set of very humble JBL J50 bookshelf speakers. I am shocked how good it sounds with those little speakers. It really is a remarkable thing. Such a pretty receiver too.
I am going to pull the wires from the "good" speakers off my little Sherwood S7100-A for a while and let the Sansui really get some exercise.
