Rotel RP-3000 or RP-550?

Hi vinyl lovers
I have a Rotel RP-3000 currently having an arm re-wired and now have the opportunity to pick up a RP-550 in very good condition. The only info I can find from the Rotel site is that the RP-550 is more recent (1981-83) and cost about the same when new ($220) It does not have a wood plynth like the RP-3000.

I am aware that there a few RP-3000 supporters here but wondered if anyone has seen or heard a RP-550.

I've never seen or heard one, but more than likely the RP-550 will be a lighter, low profile model with a straight, low mass arm. That's not to say it won't be as good, but it's a different design.

The manual or further info on the RP-550 does not seem to be available anywhere. Tis a mystery TT.
