Well. I would join the group if only I could find an RX-1603!

Of course you can find one, the only question is how much you want to pay for it. For the right price everyone want's to part with his beauty :D

Soran,
You're right. Anything can be had for the right price. But, I haven't seen an RX-1603 for sale around here for any amount. Believe me, I have been looking for quite a while and I have birdogs searching around too. They'll tip me off if they run into one, but I am losing hope. These babies are hard to find. Well, for me, exceptionally hard. I've run across many, if not most of the big flagship receivers from the Golden Age, except this one. I'd prefer not to do the ebay thing, but I may eventually have to. I have two SX-1980's and would move one if I could find the big daddy Rotel! :naughty:

Another RX-1603

Still have and use my RX-1603 I bought in 1979 when I was working in a hifi store. Managed to keep the original box all these years but lost the manual long ago. Still sounds and looks awesome.

Rx-1603

Still running the RX-1603 I bought new in 1979 (still have original box!). No better sounding or looking monster receiver to be had.

I think you're too late gearhead. I was joking with a bid of 352€ but no one overbid me ? so my 4th rx-1603 is on the road :D

i have a rotel ra 1412 & rt 1024...both need work..amp runs hot after 15 minutes idle and need a new vu bulb..and tuner has one channel badly distorted and needs a new power switch..any ideas where i can get a replacement these days ?...
they seem to be very well made though...

I just replaced the power switch on my RA-1412. It is possible they used the same thing on the RT1024. Look at the power switch and see if there are 2 microswitches hanging off the end of the push switch. If so, you can drill out the rivets that hold them in and replace them with Digikey part# SW245-ND. They are around $2.00 each. Attach the new switches with 4-40 X 1" screws and nuts.. You might want to buy a couple switches for your RA-1412 just in case. Also I installed a 1000pF / 250V ceramic cap across each switch. This prevents arcing and makes the switch last longer. Digikey part# P9525-ND for the caps.

I have a Rotel RX-1010 receiver with one power module busted. I am still looking for parts to repair it becasue it sounds so nice even with a single channel. Anyone knows where I can get this Sanken SI-1460 module?

rare baby

I have a Technics SA-1000, Sansui G-22000, Two Hitachi SA-2004, Kenwood kr-9050, you know, but where are those Rotel 1603's?

I'm sure there aren't many of us, but stand up and be counted!!! I hadn't listened to my RX-1603 in several months and just powered up this morning. WOW!!!! Where have I been??? This thing comes on like GANGBUSTERS!!! One of these days, I'm going to evacuate the neighborhood.........
Here is mine. I also have the ultra rare rk-100 separation kit.
