RS-4.5s on Ebay

I apologize if this is not the right forum for this question but has anyone taken a close look at the 4.5s currently on Ebay?

I asked some questions today of the seller. The seller says the woofers were reconed by Orange County Speaker Repair. However he says the active equalizer was an option (he does not have it). I thought it was provided with the speaker.

The seller provides some nice closeup pictures of the EMIM/EMIT drivers. It appears the EMIMs have rust on the fasteners which might indicate the speaker was exposed to high levels of humidity. The EMITs do not appear to have this rust and look newer-- I wonder if they are original? Is this kind of stuff typical for a 4.5?

I own a pair and it also did not come with the equalizer. The early models had it as an option I am beginning to think. As far as the rust goes it is possible high humidity caused it but these screws are just metal and are not painted with any thing so over time they could get they way they are. I have been watching them also. If all drivers are working then you should be good to go. Search this forum for a thread I posted with pictures of how mine were packed for shipping

Hi and thanks for the info. Are you using an active crossover to biamp? I have a few here that I could use including a Bryston 10B sub and Marchand XM26.

The seller apparently has a local shipper ready to pack and ship. I have tried to buy a pair for the last year and have been frustrated by sellers who did not want to ship or did not really want to sell. This pair looks interesting although the rust on the fasteners still has me a bit nervous. I checked the pictures of yours in the thread you suggest and your EMIMs look nice!! How do you like the 4.5s?
