RS 4.5's vs QLS1

I have a perfect pair of QLS 1's that sound great and do a little bit of everything well. I was not looking for set of RS 4.5's but have stumbled across a pair that are Perfect cosmetically. Have not listened to them yet due to the distance. My question are these a significant step up in performance?

I have both, The 4.5 is the far better speaker, especially in imaging and bass, If you like heavy rock loud, keep the QLS-1, the EMIN's don't like it over 90db :) Al
 
the QLS1's worked wonderfully in my system, when fed enough clean power. i think they matched my room and tastes even better than the RS4.5's. i listen to a lot of classical and jazz, with a dash of rock. the QLS1 is more fragile and finnicky, but has a warmer, richer sound. the RS4.5 is more durable and probably has a slight edge in imaging. the RS1b is a good mix of the two, if you can get the bass dialed in properly (though i liked the bass of both other speakers more than the RS1b).

I agree with cdfac about the QLS-1 finickiness as mine can sound superb depending on the source material even in a smallish listening space, warm balanced and detailed.

As I am currently listening to my RS 2.5s I'm struggling a bit with the Watkins to EMIM handoff, but enjoying them regardless of any real or imagined high bass/low midrange "hole".
 
I found that any handoff issues between woofers and EMIMs in my RSIIb's was cured by the Graz diaphragms. Seamless is the word that comes to mind now.
