RS3B vs. Vandersteen

scottykarate

Ain't skeered!
For those of you who have listened to any of the Vandersteens and some of the Reference/Kappa Series Infinity line, which would you go with for mainly 2 channel?

Say for example, and RS3B vs. Vandersteen 1?

Or, something like a Kappa 7 (EMIT K) vs. a Vandersteen 2?

I've got a set of RS6'B's and love the EMIT. I think the mids are decent, but maybe not forward enough for me when listening to faster songs with heavier guitar distortion.

Are the mids in the Kappas "quicker" or able to get better separation than on the RS6Bs?

I've owned Infinity RSIIIB and Vandersteen 2ce, IMHO they are both great speakers and you can't go wrong with either one. I would probably give a very slight nod to the Vandersteen in this one though.

I used to own a pair of Vandersteen 1's but my favorite 8" 2-way speaker is the Dahlquist DQ-8.
The Infinity RS-IIIa/b, to my ears and taste, is a far more enjoyable speaker. The bass response alone of the RS-IIIb favors it over the Vandersteens( and for that matter the DQ-8s).
