RS7b or RSe which do you prefer?

I have both RS7b's and RSe speakers. What are your opinions on these two speakers? I have not put them head to head against each other, ( they are in different rooms), if I do what should I expect. The RS 7b's are the 3 way, 6ohm, vinyl clad model. RSe's the 2way, 4 ohm, real wood veneer model. Do these use 2 different Emits? I know the color is different, is that all? The Ohm difference baffles me to, the 2 way is 4 Ohm and the 3 way is 6 Ohm. Always been curious about this. Basically I could use an education on these two speakers, and their sound. I like them both. Wondering what you think. Thanks

They are completely different speakers with different crossover points with the RSe an earlier vintage and a two way. The woofers appear interchangeable and the tweeters although different will have a similar sound. However they are being asked to do very different sound ranges so there shouldn’t be any similarities between the two except for the brand name. The 1978 reference standard line is highly regarded which includes the RSe. I have heard they were essentially replaced with the Kappa series. At this age it will also depend on whether or not they have been restored
The midrange on the RS7 could be more present. The emotional part in my opinion, is the mid range. But by this time cost cutting on the RS7 line made them more of a consumer lower end product vs the RSe line. 40+ year old capacitors and crossovers won’t provide a good experience either way.

Thanks, I've been wondering where These fell in the Infinity realm. Eventually I may have to give up one set.

" Do these use 2 different Emits?"

Different face plates/part #'s, but I'm pretty sure the rest is the same. Same replacement diaphragms.

Looking at just the drivers used and crossover design, I would hazard to say the RS7b might sound closer to the RSb.

The RSb has a 10 inch woofer and has different crossover frequencies than the RS7b. The RSa is a two way version of the RSb without the midrange driver and the woofer has a center mounted cone which can clearly drive higher into the midrange frequencies. The RS7b was obviously a cost down product.
