I like some information about the speakers, RSL RogerSound Labs CG-6a.
Is a good speakers? Any pictures that shows details inside, how they build these speakers? It's a real wood?.

The two-way CG-6a bookshelf loudspeaker was first introduced in 1991 and manufactured by Klipsch until 1992. While no longer in production, CG-6a model loudspeakers are still owned and listened to by RSL fans around the world as part of two-channel audio and home theater surround sound systems.

Howard Rogers was and is an icon in the San Fernando Valley, CA who had built himself a reputation for manufacturing the highest quality speakers possible for the money. They sold direct to the consumer to avoid high retail markups and put most of the savings back into the quality of their builds. In the 80's, RSL Speakers were industry-standard in many recording studios throughout Southern California. Howard started off in a small shop in North Hollywood, building speakers one at a time by hand. He later moved the business to a larger facility in Canoga Park where he really gave JBL a run for their money. You might suspect that I am a HUGE fan of RSL. I used to work at RSL and currently own two pairs of CG-6a's. They are fine sounding speakers and the woofer foam surrounds on mine are still in good shape. Everything about the cabinets and overall construction is first rate.

My personal observations: The diffraction plate surrounding the dome tweeter tends to cause a slight bit of peakiness so on one of my pairs I glued black felt to it which dropped the tweeter output level a bit. The circuit board mounted cross-overs contain a thermal circuit breaker (the black plastic thingie) to protect the tweeter but they can go bad, so I removed them and just mounted a jumper wire in their place. I also removed the woofers and placed acousta-stuff in the chamber directly behind the woofer as well as more acousta stuff in the area by the cross-over as I'm not a bass freak.

I have an emotional attachment to all my RSL speakers, but the fact they sound really good is another reason I will never part with them.

Thank you for the information about these speakers. I just received a e-mail from RSL directly with many information and pictures that I go to show later.
I look for to buy a small speaker, I just sold a few days a JBL SUMMIT L300 for a room space. Now I look for a very good speaker, but small.
I have some research in four models, but they look nice, but I think that is only a regular speaker, nothing well done like the Rogers Lab. They are not beautiful like the other ones, but looks much better than this others speakers. any information or opinions about my research or if you have any one that you know that is better, let me know.

Advent made some really great small speakers. I have some Baby Advent II's that sound wonderful.

My CG 6a speaker just developed a fault where the sound becomes reduced and muffled, sometimes the tweeter wont work. It's intermittent. I took at look at the crossover no obvious damage, and i also checked the solder joints with an ohm meter, and also the speaker terminals to their joints on the crossover. I didn't measure the caps. Could it be the fuse causing this? Normally, I'm used to a fuse that either is blown or is not. Not one that fails on a curve.

It's not my amp, i used several amps to rule that out.
 
There is an "automatic reset" overload/thermal circuit breaker component in the tweeter signal path that can go bad. As long as you don't overdrive your speakers, then it is safe to remove it from the circuit board and replace/bypass it with a piece of wire. I seem to recall it is a small black component (could be a different color) that does not look like a capacitor, resistor, or inductor.

There is a seller on FleaBay that sells a similar type of component for tweeter overload protection for Yamaha NS-10000's although they will work on any tweeter circuit with a higher cross-over frequency. Just do an eBay search for " Tweeter protectors for Yamaha NS1000 NS1000m NS 1000 ".

Hopefully this will solve your problem.

i'm using these guys as desktop speakers at my office, so i won't be pushing them hard.

I'll cut it out of the circuit and put a jumper in place. Any idea where i can get a schematic?
 
If you look on the circuit board you should be able to identify the little circuit breaker unit and all you need to do is un-solder the two leg leads from the circuit board and insert a suitable wire into those holes and re-solder. If you have any capacitors laying around with decent thickness long lead wires, then a piece of that lead wire would work very well. Good luck!

So I finally got around to bypassing the fuse.

Works great now!

The fuse read between 8 to 22 ohms.

I decided to check the other speaker and it was a health .2 ohms and I let it be.

These are damn good bookshelf speakers.
