RSL Speedscreen (Rogers Sound Lab)

Hi all. I ran across a pair of these on Craigslist, but haven't been able to find much info on them. Are they well regarded? Worth $275 ? I haven't auditioned them yet, but from pics they appear to be in nice shape.
These are series 1 btw (dome tweeter)

If they are working they work well and can sound excellent. If they need work can be a little problematic finding a replacement mid that can x-over low enough.

They like power but can sound very nice as low as 50 WPC froma quality receiver amp set up

Where you located? I have some Speed Screen 1s that I brought back to sonic purity and you need to know what you are doing due to their x-over set up.

Perhaps if they had better bass response the mids and highs would be a more pleasing listening experience.
An audition is a must.

I believe they are 1s (dome tweeter) like those pictured in the post above by "Tubed".
Tubed, would you say the bass is lacking, or it's there but not good/quick/punchy? I gather you don't care much for them overall, correct?
 
The overall sound was a more balanced sound, very detailed not something you would choose for Disco or metal, but more of something built to follow Magnaplaner style of output, in fact that is mentioned in their sales literature.

Acoustic Guitar,Jazz most mainstream rock is fine. Mine handle the gamut with a 150 WPC Onkyo driving them, but I have driven them with a Sony STR 6200f which is rated 35 WPC no problem. They of course shine much better with a larger power reserve. If you have issues with bass then possible amp issue or inverted hook up can cause as I haven't had a problem with bass reproduction on these.

The bass is accurate, punchy and solid but not flabby.

When I read a user complaining about bass from a speaker it usually is something akin to they want window moving rap levels and not accurate sound. These again if functoning properly then they will play anything well. The mids are the problem if you need to replace as the cross-over is very wide for the midrange in this configuration.

They made some diffraction/dispersion changes in the 2 version with many folks leaning more toward the 1 for more dynamics and the 2 series being a bit smoother in contrast.
