RTA11T or SDA SRS2.3TL

I have an opportunity to buy a nice pair of Polk SDA SRS2.3TL for $200.00 CDN. I have a pair of nice RTA11T that I power with my Kenwood KA7010 amp. 100 wpc. Looking for opinions if I should but the SDA's and sell the RTA11T's?

I would, since they're significantly higher on the food chain, and that's a great price that's easy to resell. On the other hand, I'm not a fan of the SL2000 tweeters, and don't really want to buy RDO194 tweeters.
 
That is an insane price for what some consider to be the very best of the SDAs. And because they're the latest version, they have SL3000 tweeters that are much better than the SL2000 that everyone hates. They are worth many times that price. Buy them now before someone else does. They will certainly outperform your RTA11T in every aspect, and if you haven't heard the SDA effect before, you're in for a treat.

Just make sure you have enough room for them. They're big speakers with a big sound and the SDA effect requires 3' of open space on each side and the speakers should be at least 6' apart, preferably more.

I don't know anything about that amp. Wattage doesn't much matter with SDAs as they're quite efficient and will be happy with less than 20 watts. But they do require a high current amp. Good luck!
 
Oh yes, amp requirements, SDA speakers need "common ground" amplifiers, which I believe most are. Possibly some dual mono designs won't work, and mono blocks definitely won't work.

Your integrated is dual mono, so you need to check if it is common ground or not by using a DVM on the negative binding posts. If you get decent resistance it's common ground. If not you cannot use the Kenwood with the 2.3TL's unless you acquire an AI-1 or build a Dreadnought isolation transformer. That said, those speakers are better served with better amplification.
