RTR 280DR

Hello fellow audiophiles. I am new to the forum and need some help. I just picked up a pair of RTR 280DR's from my local Goodwill for $26. The cabinets definitely need some TLC, but the drivers are all in great shape. I tested them out on a older Marantz that I have and they just soaked up the power and wanted more. Couple of questions for everyone. The veneer is shot and peeling and the bottom plates need replaced. Should I spend the $$$ and have the veneer replaced or just prep and paint them? The bottoms plates will be easy to reproduce. Same with the grills. I have no clue what they are worth and don't plan on selling them any time soon, as they sound pretty amazing. Any word of advice?Restore or paint? Is it worth paying all that money to get them restored? Thank you everyone in advance!!

Fantastic speakers.
Rare, so value is undetermined, so the "worth restoring"? Is up to you.
Mine were $40, no grills.
I probably will never restore them or sell them and they sound great now, so why bother.
They are presentable enough as is.

If you do decide to invest and make them beautiful again, its not a dumb move.

I read that they will take all the power you can throw at them.
