"In an important victory for the first sale doctrine, a federal district court today ruled that selling "promo CDs" on eBay does not infringe copyright. The court threw out a lawsuit by Universal Music Group (UMG), which had argued that the "promotional use only" labels affixed to these CDs somehow conveyed eternal ownership on UMG, making it illegal to resell the CDs (or even throw them away)."

That is f'in awesome. I despise these money grubbin sob's. They are trying everything they can to change copyright law so they can squeeze more money out of the general public.

They make me sick. And they wonder why more and more people are going to downloads. I have bought hundreds and hundreds or promo CDs, DVDs, books, etc, etc, etc

Am I now a felon according to UMG?

Why would I want to buy anything from them?

I have NO sympathy.
