Running 100V Sony TA-V7 on 120V?

Found a compact Sony TA-V7 integrated today, similar but not identical to the one at Axel's site.

Uses a pulse power supply and puts out 80wpc (!!!) from a small, lightweight package.

Although the front panel is in English, the rear panel is in Japanese and the power requirement is listed as 100V, 50/60 Hz. I've plugged it in to confirm operation and it does seem to light up correctly but I am concerned about running it on 120V. There is no voltage switch so I can't change anything.

Any advice?

I would get a step down transformer. Using it at 120v will work, but will put a strain on the power supply and will shorten it's life considerably.

Thanks vincei.

Not sure at this point if it is worth the trouble. I fired it up with a cd player just to see what would happen. Doesn't matter which inputs I route through, I get music but also a steady clicking from the amp in the output. I'm assuming it's from the pulse power supply and perhaps indicative of that shortened life you mention. No telling how it was treated before it hit my hands.
