Never had one in STL, but me and a buddy made the 5 hour trip to Chicago in the early '90s when they opened there. We arranged the visit around a Blues/Blackhawks game on a Friday night. Saturday morning (late!) we hit Tower Records. I think we dropped a couple hundred bucks there between us. Biggest damn record store I ever saw. Grabbed some lunch and then hit the highway home.

R.I.P. Russ.........

I spent a lot of time and money at Tower Records, back in the day - Sacramento & Palo Alto, CA; Tysons Corner and Alexandria, VA... Was a fun place to just wander around and look at CDs... I'll have a whisky later this week, and lift a sip to Russell... RIP.

I too spent many hours, and a lot of money, at Tower Records on Watt Ave. in Sacramento. After that, a trip next door to Sam’s Hofbrau was always in order. Great memories Russ, RIP!
