Russian rigonda speakers -help!

Hi acquired what I thought was a pair of Russian speakers by rigonda
The look like speakers but seem to have built in amps and have vef electro acoustic unit written on the back and adjustment knobs +5din inputs on top
Anyone come across these and know how they work etc?
Any help would be appreciated

ive tried attaching to my amp - will not work unless wires that go up into the speakers internal amp are spliced (go straight from my amp to the speaker cutting out the rigonda's built in amp unit)

tried attaching to amp with no luck unless wires are spliced before they go into the top amp section

My guess is that the 9V is where the power adapter plugs in. There are DIN connectors for line in (tape or CD or what have you), turntable (the Q), and tuner. The thing with the swoosh over the top on the left is the volume control knob. Can't make out whet the other two symbols are.

They appear to be powered loudspeakers; do both sides have identical connectors?

Two drivers inside: 4GD5 (4 watt) and 2GD3 (2 watt).

yes both speakers are identical , tried attaching a 9v power supply but nothing doing

ive tried using a universal 9v adapter connected to the 9 v input , first with just a turntable with a 5 din connector - no sound output + speaker wires connected to amp - still no sound

only sound I can achieve is if I splice the wires and avoid the built in amp and drive the speakers with my external amp

am I doing something wrong

I have 2 of these units and no results from either

Wonder if that 9V has anything to do with power requirements. What's a "V" in cyrillic anyway?

Maybe a line supply issue?

Also, maybe I just didn't look hard enough, but it looks like those would have drawn power from the same source as the attached components ... whatever that was if it was stepped down in circuit. Those also look old enough to be a field coil design, and no telling where the coil was located on some of them oldies ... probably not, as you mentioned getting them to work bypassing the "amp" section.
