Today I was practially given a pair of SAE Mark X cabinets. They are very nice wood veneer cabs. They have 12" woofers, 5" mids, The front and rear tweets are missing. The woofers and mids appear to be CTS, the code is 137. Does anybody know what drivers these might of came with, or are these the orignal ones. I'm thinking about finding some tweeters and restoreing them.

With a CTS sourced woofer and mirange driver I would guess the tweeter was a CTS phenolic ring tweeter just to keep it consistent. Also the hole size indicates a large framed tweeter and the phenolic ring jobbers covered plenty of space. Now the question was if they used the typical sized voice coil standard unit or the heavier duty models which are far less common. Good luck!

PS - All of the tweeter screw holes and odd shaped opening seem to indicate the cabinet was modified to accept a non-standard tweeter at some point. Maybe the phenolic ring tweeter was replaced by a Peerless soft dome when they became widely available? Hmm...
