SA-5270 power transformer characteristics

Hey guys, hope you're doing right.

My grandfather is repairing a Technics SA-5270. He is a retired specialist.

However, he accidentally killed the power transformer from bad manipulation while repairing and needs to now what are the secondary tensions of the output of the power transformer.

Could anyone help us ?

I'm sorry if I don't use the right terms, I'm French and I don't really know this kind of vocabulary.

Bonjour and welcome to AK. The secondary tensions are given in the service manual, which is available from elektrotanya.com or hifiengine.com. The secondary that provides most of the power is specified 26.3-0-26.3V (which may also be stated as 52.6 VCT, where "CT" indicates "center tapped"). There is an additional secondary supplying 10.5V for lighting and 37.2V for the "ripple filter" circuit; the schematic shows this secondary as a single winding with a tap, but separate windings could be used.

It is more difficult to estimate the total power capacity that the transformer should have. I think it should be at least 200VA.

I think it will be impossible to find a single transformer that will provide these secondary tensions. You may be able to improvise a solution using multiple transformers.

It is also possible that the problem with the original transformer is simply that its internal fuse has failed, and it may be possible to open up the transformer, find that fuse, and replace it.

Finally, I should say that it is possible that there will not be a solution that makes economic sense. But I wish you good luck!
