SA-708 amp + SG-9500 eq + SR-202 reverb. How to?

Hello all,

I have been trying to set up my system using an SA-708 amplifier, an SG-9500 equaliser and an SR-202 reverberation amplifier, to no avail.
For simplicity’s sake, let’s say I have only one tape deck that I connected to Tape 1 on the amplifier, so this “chain” will be using the Tape 2.
I don’t really need to use the reverb to its full potential - no tape deck will be hooked up to it. I just want to be able to apply the effect on the output sometimes.
How would I go about hooking them up?

As a first step if you have a tape deck for the source I think it would be best to hook the tape deck outputs to the Aux or Tuner input of the amplifier.

Then the EQ would be hooked into the Tape 1 location of the amplifier and the reverb would be hooked into the tape section of the EQ.

Hooked up that way you can listen to the tape deck via aux/tuner and switch the EQ/reverb chain in or out if desired via the tape 1 switch of the amp.

Or you can leave the amp tape mon switch engaged all the time and bypass or engage the EQ with it's EQ on/off switch.

If you want a touch of reverb you would use the tape monitor switch on the EQ to switch it in and out of the chain.

Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, I got it.
Yesterday I set it up slightly differently and I'm happy with the result.
I got the reverb hooked up to Tape 1 and the equaliser to Tape 2.
My deck (well, several controlled via an external switch) is also hooked up to Tape 2.
I know this way I either have the equaliser or the reverb, never both, but it's OK.

BTW what I poster earlier will work with the tape deck in tape 1. Simply move the EQ/reverb chain to tape 2. This set-up would allow for EQ and reverb at the same time, if that is what you are after.

I'm gonna give it a shot over the weekend. There are so many cables here I can't face them again until then.
