SA-9100 Pre Out

Hello
Is it possible to use the Pre Out and the speakers at the same time?
I would like to use my SA-9100 to power one set of speakers and my Marantz 1060 to power a second set of speakers. I would like to connect the pre out of the 9100 to the aux in of the 1060 so I can choose which speakers to listen to. The only way I have found this to work is to flip the switch on the back from normal to separated. Is there a better way to do this?
Thanks
Eric

I'm not sure if the 9100 power amp input is shorted out, if the switch is set to 'separate'. I think not. That being the case, you can set to separate, then feed the pre-amp output into a stereo 'Y' connector, then feed the 'Y' outputs to the input of the 9100 power amp, and the other amp.

Enjoy,
Rich P

Are you already using the tape out for something?. I have 2x SA9500's and using the tape outs I've got the 2 amps and 6 receivers all hooked together, all have their own vol control. and I can use any input w/ any unit turned on except phono. For phono I must have the main SA9500 powered up. CC

Thanks for the help, this works great. I have also noticed that the 9100 will pass audio through the tape out even when its powered off?
