SA and TX rig arrived

I just picked up another SA-9500II amp and TX-9500II tuner last week. These are beauties, in pretty nice shape. They're both unbelievably clean and near scratch free. I was stoked when i saw the faces on them. Well, after peering around to the back side of the amp, I find that it had been dropped or mishandled during the ride over. The casing is dented in a bit and the rear panel is slightly tweaked. Nothing bad, but still a bent case that will need a bit of attention unless I decide to rustle up another case, and keep this as a spare. I pulled it apart and checked it out internally, nothing is out of place, and really nice inside with minimal clean up needed.
After checking the DC offset at 2mV and under on both channels, I powered it up. This thing is sweet. No noise on any of the switches or controls so far, and both heat sinks feel nearly identical after a few minutes thumping a set of Norman Labs model 93, 12" 3 ways. Best 9500 I've had yet. The tuner is just as nice. I hooked up an SG-9500 EQ to it and was met with pure bliss. I had to hook it up to my DX-9s tonight to let it stretch out. Walls started shaking with minimal effort, nice sound from this amp. I'm pleased with it. They should clean up really nice. Pics are of them out of the box.
Asking if any Pioneer guys on here would have a cover they'd be willing to pass along to put this back in pristine condition.

Deep South? New Zealand? Or the Other Deep South Australia?

Nice set you have there either way....

Don't you mean SA and TX ?

BTW that cabinet is an easy repair job for most people. If in doubt then unscrew the cover assembly and take it to a panel shop and a good trades man will have that looking untouched in less than 15 minutes.

Nothing a carton of beer or a bottle of Jack Daniels won't fix as payment.

D'oh!! What was I drinking, I mean thinking. IT was a late night, and yeah, I knew that din't look or sound right when I typed that out. I have SX-1250 on my mind all the time. Haha! Yes, I know that would be an easy fix, I've done a few of these and hope it will end up being paintless. I do sheetmetal and body work, but I've never found the exact match in paint or texture to fix it when the paint does chip off. No biggie. It's more for the next guy any way if it ever gets sold. As easy as it is to do, the rear panel will be more difficult to straighten than the cover will be. Thanks for the compliments.

Once it is setup in your system, you won't see the dent.Just relax and enjoy it. The 9500II is one of the favorite components I have.

Yessir, never will cross my mind once I tweak back into shape. I feel like I should have never brought that to attention, and just enjoyed the pleasure of owning another really nice one. I still have the one that's been listed in my sig line for the last 13 years or so.

Oh yeah, this set sounds great. Have been playing it quite a bit this week, with zero issues at all. I read where someone posted that when he plugged an SG-9500 into this system that it was worse than without it. I'm not having that problem at all, as a matter of fact, I find it quite nice.

I meant to ask you about this post. Did you ever finish rebuilding your 9500II, or is this a different amp you're using now? This is my second 9500II, the first one developed some issues that I haven't been able to figure out yet. Just got it back out and on the bench for a check up. It's not looking good. Bad hum, in both phono sections, and woofers(test speakers) are jumping in and out when the volume is turned up slowly on the AUX section when cables are connected to the jacks.

Thanks kevzep, yes, I'm impressed more and more with this amp. Very clean and sounds great. Equal sound from right/left channels and they both run the same temps with no abnormal heat.
Deep South, USA.... hence the screen name. Have a good one. :beerchug:
