SACD question

Looks like a nice universal player. What do you mean "it's a hack and a huge pain"?
To rip SACDs, you to create a bootable USB stick, plug it into the USB port on the drive and power cycle the drive. The drive must be on your network and connected via Ethernet.

Then you need to find which IP address the unit has. Then there is software you fire up on your computer that you need to find from various file sharing sites on the Internet. You fire that up, connect to the IP address of the player, pop a SACD in, and then you can rip it.

Once you're all done, you need to unplug the unit, pull out the USB stick and reboot. Make sure it's connected to a TV because all your settings will be wiped, and you'll need to reconfigure it as if you just bought it.

The HiFiHaven website has a very detailed guide on how to do it one of their forum posts.

If you're a frequent SACD purchaser, I would wait till you have a half dozen discs or more, and then rip them all at once, rather having to reconfigure you Blu-ray player every few days.
