SAE Goodwill Find

jcamero

Who are you people anyway?
Stopped at my local GW after work today and found an SAE R102 receiver and a C102 cassette deck. The receiver powered up, (heard the relay click in). The cassette deck powers up, door did not open in store, but the bottom transport screws had not been removed. No further testing until this weekend. It should make a great garage system. I know these units are not the desired, (USA Made) components, but what the heck!S7300045.JPG

Don't know what a flyer is, but damn! They are gorgeous!!!!! Is that the cassette door with buttons on it? Never seen that before. And I seem to remember another company advertising sensual heads

ooh sensual heads? are those an upgrade to sendust heads? they sound like they'd sound warm and smooth.

great score on that set hope that cassette deck works

I can't believe both SAE units kept the rack mount hole covers, after all these years.

Enjoy!

SAE is great gear.

But I'm not sure why the USA stuff is more desired and the later stuff looked down upon.

Having worked on some of each, it was all a little edgy. All the stuff I've had and worked on needed some serious love.

Excellent sound when they are working.

I have the I102 amp and P102 preamp, would love to have those. SAE components actually do have a very nice sound.
