SAE Mark 1b Pre-amp: Any opinions?

I'm looking at trading some gear for an SAE Mark 1b pre-amp. Thw current owner also has the original Owner's Guide and Service Manual, along with wood case. It is in apparetly perfect condition, and I can see or hear nothing wrong with it right now. The current owner has it driving a Yamaha M-45 power amp, which is in turn driving (ugh!) Bose 301's. What is the general opinion on SAE, and the pre-amp I'm looking at in specific.

If I get it, I will be mating it up with the Kenwood L-07M's I recently acquired.

I had 1 and the matching amp when they first came out and at the time I felt they were about as good as was out there in ss land. These were 1st gen SAE and I think the best they put out in terms of build quality and looks as well as sound. From time to time I see these and start thinking to myself .... maybe a nice nest including their 1st gen tuner would go nicely somewhere in the house.
