Hello audiophiles,
i am in trouble with my SAE Mark XXX Preamp.
The power switch is broken. This very mechanical piece relies on a swinging spring to engage, that perished with age and has no future in a reliability perspective. The really annoying part is that SAE managed to use different layout of power switches. I have a working example switch from a SAE 2900 that is fairly useless, simply because the mounting holes were switched to horizontal instead of vertical. Drilling is always possible, even if drill, drill, drill is today perhaps off-topic …
So in short, any guidance / reference for a replacement switch is welcome. This will greatly help to push things forward in the restoration process, the next topic will be the fridge (uh, sorry i mean the XXXIb amplifier and his horrible transformer hum…).
Greets from Belgium you all…
