ubject: Need help with early version SAE Mark 1 Preamplifier (No letter suffix)
Hello everyone,
I am currently restoring an early, original SAE Mark 1 preamplifier (the 1970 version with the switched resistor volume network, no letter suffix, no EQ, no VU meters).
My unit has a specific issue: The Line Output is perfectly fine, but the Main Output on one channel is very quiet. The sound stays absolutely clean and undistorted on that channel, but it lacks gain. The Gain toggle switch only changes the volume on the "High" setting on that specific side.
Since there are no official PDF manuals or schematics available online for this very early revision, I saw your restoration thread and wanted to ask if anyone has handwritten schematics, voltage charts, notes, or high-resolution photos of the main board and the switched volume network?
Any advice or technical documentation on this early Mark 1 would be greatly appreciated before I start measuring the channels symmetrically.
Thank you so much for your help!
