SAE TWO T14...memory help needed...

All,

I have acquired an SAE TWO T14, which is a fantastic tuner, but it won't save presets or time. I've popped the cover and found analog stages and comparator chips relatively easily to access. Buried in there, must be the memory chips. Does anyone have info on what I'm looking for, or access to a service manual?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with the model, but mightn't there be a battery - perhaps a "coin cell" - that's responsible for keeping the memory alive? If there is, that would be what I would suspect first.

Phew! Looking over that schemo, "nothing obvious" is putting it mildly, at least for me.

It's a SWAG at best, but perhaps that section in the upper-right corner of the SW-270 block is a hold-up power supply? That would be something I'd look at, anyway. If I could find it in the physical unit...

Let me study these schematics and the tuner...I don't think it's battery based...it stored in some sort of memory system for almost 20 years, but I don't know if that's an early EEPROM that has worn out or what...
 
That's a possibility... IC902 is a 256-bit CMOS static RAM IC, and it's connected to the microprocessor IC901. The other IC in that circuit is the PLL frequency synthesizer so unlikely it is involved with memory settings.
