Salk (Speakers) is no more apparently -- effective 9/15/23

I was surprised to see this, and doesn't seem like it's been mentioned on AK, but it looks like Salk is no more.

The note below appears on the home page of their website: https://www.salksound.com/

Notice: As of September 15, 2023, Salk Sound is no longer accepting orders for new speakers. We have sold our woodworking equipment and no longer have a shop. So we are unable to build new speakers or repair old ones. Thanks to all of our customers and supporters. For over 20 years, we have enjoyed delivering world-class speakers to customers around the world. Our plan is to maintain this web site for acrchival purposes. And we have a few ideas on what Salk Sound will entail in the coming months and years. So stay tuned... - Jim

Sorry to hear they're gone -- never got a chance to try out their speakers, but always admired the variety of their offerings.

My understanding is Jim Salk is retiring. Dennis Murphy, the designer of the crossovers for Jim's speakers has been suffering from some health issues and may not be designing for him anymore. Both gentlemen have been a real asset to the DIY speaker community for many years. Best to each of them.
