Hi Everyone,
I am new here, so please excuse if I'm posting in the wrong forum.
I am trying to find out if speakers rated "4-8 Ohm" will be OK for the Sansui G-301. Here is the data:
1. The speakers are B&O Beovox P30's and P45's.
2. The info online rates the Sansui G-301 at 8 ohm
3. Everyone online says that G-301 is the same as G-3500 - the visible difference is that G-3500 can handle 2 sets of speakers, but the label on the back then says they both need to be 8 Ohm, implying a single pair of speakers can be 4 Ohm.
4. The website classicreceivers.com states for instance that the G-4700 does not like being hooked up to speakers that are less than 8 Ohm, since a particular circuit can quickly overheat (https://classicreceivers.com/sansui-g-4700)
So I am not sure if there isn't anything specific that will cause issued when these particular speakers are connected...
I would greatly appreciate any info -- I don't want to fry the receiver but I don't have any speakers rated formally as 8 Ohm on the nose to even test the G-301.
Thanks -- and Merry Christmas!
