Sansui 2000 comparison

The Sansui 2000x is a very pleasing little unit. I was wondering if it's music quality greatly exceeds the 2000 and the 2000A? I know the Sansui 2000 were sold from 1967-71, the 2000A from 1969-71 and 1977 and 2000X -1970-1973. Has anyone had any personal experience for comparision with both the 2000X series and the 2000A? thanks

The 2000 is a completely different animal then the 2000a or x model.

The 2000a and x have the same tuner, preamp, phono and mpx sections. The difference is in the driver board, giving the x model a little more oomph. Other than power output the 2000a and x both sound the same. The only cosmetic differences are the 2000x logo and a different looking tuner scale

I believe the 2000a is 30wpc and the 2000x is 38wpc

>>I believe the 2000a is 30wpc and the 2000x is 38wpc<<

It's no big deal but I read someplace the the early x's had 38wpc and that the later ones had aprox 50wpc.
I have a really sharp 2000x but have no idea as to which year it was produced. It's a great rig.

It could have very well been 50 wpc into 4 ohms. most manufacturer power ratings are listed at 8 ohm loads.
