I got a pair of 2500X’s for free from a buddy. They sound pretty dry and unexciting right now. Read somewhere you gotta replace the surrounds and crossover caps to bring these back to life. Is that cost effective for these speakers? Would they sound pretty good after fixing up or should I save my pennies for another pair of US/European floor speakers? My old man had a pair of Sansui’s all my youth that looked very similar to these but they had a number in orange on the speaker grill tag. They sounded AMAZING and shook the house. I’m driving them with a restored Sansui 2000X and currently have a pair of Cambridge Sounworks Tower II’s on the A set. Looking to put the Sansuis on the B set in the other room.
