Sansui 3000A Mod and new LED lamps

Just thought I'd share some pics of my Sansui 3000A.

Had the modification done per Sansui recommendations so as not to fry my speakers. Just added green LED lamps for illumination of the bezel.

I love the look of this receiver. Some may say not so much. The warm Sansui sound is the real draw. Wood case a bonus.

Where does it rate in the history of Sansui SS receivers? :scratch2:

Very nice!:thmbsp: Classic Sansui!

I have a Sansui 8 Deluxe, with wooden case. Mine is also warm sounding with light airy high frequencies. Love that Sansui sound.:music:
 
I don't know how it actually rates with others, but it does deliver. Only need another tape monitor to be perfect in my use. How did you mount the dial LEDs? Really lights up the dial. I did put in an LED for the power lamp. Didn't like the idea of the heat from the light bulb so close to the dial string.
 
The dial lamps are simple fuse types. Pop right in. qua-co of ebay makes these LEDs himself.

My understanding is they put out less heat that the OEM.

I also put his lamps in my Teac A6300 R2R with great success.
