Howdy- I am restoring a Pioneer SX-1500TD- it is supposed to have a pair of 1000 uf output caps though mine has 4 of them- the kit I have has 2200 uf replacements. So...
Next up for resto is a Sansui 350A- it only has 1000 uf outputs and I have noticed in the manual chart the low bass rolls off of it. Can I get better bass and performance by upsizing these to 1500 to 2000uf as well? Thanks for any input

IME, after dealing with some caps coupled units(Marantz, HK, Pioneer and Sansui) I just use whatever value the designer implemented, I had go with what internet people says as experiment and ended up with a boomy artificial bass sound and find it detrimental.
But some people might enjoy that for some reason.
