Almost mint condition, insides just a little dusty....other than that perfect.....well apart from the dial light is blown....there is only One......and it makes the whole receiver look so dull with no backlighting at all....you dont even know if the power is on until you turn on the tuner section....

I know these are nowhere near as well regarded as the "G" series...but for pennies it is a well built piece of Sansui before the company went downhill....

Sounds good....see how it performs on my Dynaco A25XL's tomorrow....

The lamp i need looks like this...8v 300ma.

Rather nice looking. You could probably use a Pioneer wedge base lamp, just pull the pins straight to connect them.

The original bulb is blue like this:

but they are sold out.
I only can help you with this:

Like I said. The original lamp IS blue.

The lamp in mine looks like the original....as far as i could see no one had changed it since it was made.......and its clear not Blue....

The model number of the lamps in that parts shop is 04007500 and according to the service manual the lamps part number for my amp is 04007600, a different part.

Looks like my 5900Z that was given to me with a blown output. Looks like a nice receiver. It's strange to have a push button as a volume control to control a motorized volume pot. I just notice yours don't have that. That's a good thing. Enjoy :music:

Yeah, i was just thinking that.....they left the odd motorised volume pot out on this one.......what a weird idea.....far better without it !

...now what I don't particularly like about it is the push button 'Auto Tuning'. OK for me, I only listen to local stations...

Sansui used both partnumbers 04007500 and 04007600 for the A 40, A 80, 3900Z, 4900Z and 5900Z.
