I also replaced that transistor on my 4000. Yes, the KSA1220YTA is a working replacement.
If you've replaced the caps on the board, go through and check your resistors as well. The 10 ohm resistor, R831 to the left of the 537 that was bad , had drifted to 117k ohms! I had to take the resistor off of the other board, (I replaced it as well), just to double check that it was indeed, that far off. I used a 1/2 watt instead of the 1/4 that was originally in there. It fits easily. There were a few others that had drifted, (not nearly as bad), that I replaced as well, again, using 1/2 watt carbon films.
After replacing the 537 and that resistor, I was able to dial in the bias, whereas before, I couldn't ever seem to get it right.
