Is there a tool made to remove these slotted nuts that won't scratch the face?

I have a small selection of spanner nut sockets, but none of them have three teeth to engage that nut. I have a Sansui 350 which has a four-slot spanner nut, and I was able to use the two-pin socket to remove it.

I also had a Pioneer SX-9000 with six slots, and the two-pin socket got that as well.

They are actually 4 slot. The pic is a little blurred.

That's clearer. A two-pin would work it you had the proper size. Chasing it around with a chopstick and small mallet could work nicely with no damage.

I used the adjusting spanner that came with a micrometer. Not perfect as it only engages one divot at a time with the inside of the spanner contacting the outside diameter of the nut about 120 degrees away but works fine if one is careful. Helpful if you just happen to have a micrometer set in your tool box.

The "micrometer adjustment tool" ( not certain of its proper name).
Actually did not find it until after I put this unit back together.
Took me several weeks more before I realized/remembered its origin.
If you don't already have one, fine. Now that I know there is a file for creating the device designed by qrxrestore I'd probably go that way. You could buy one from them pretty cheap but then there is probably shipping.

thats a cute little hook spanner. Mitutoyo? I think the Starrett ones I have are all color case hardened but I have a couple of plain ones that were in my Mitutoyo mic standards box.
