Sansui 500EA Headphone Question??

Hi All,

Just acquired a Sansui 500EA that has been converted to 120V and had the caps replaced about 4 years ago. I have been looking at all the schematics but cannot figure out how the headphone jack on this unit puts a load on the amp?

I would love to use it as both a headphone driver and a speaker driver but may not want to have speakers hooked up the taps at all times. Does anyone have any idea if the headphone port puts an adequate load on the amp to protect the power transformers and tubes?

I know the AU-70 puts a load on the 16ohm taps when the headphones are in use but no idea with this 500EA.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

here is that part of the schematic. I think it adds either a 1k or 15 load?

The 500EA is a very rare unit. Does yours have a serial number on the back chassis? If so, can you post it for the Database? Thanks!

Thanks for the help guys. I posted the serial in the database as I just got it back from the shop. Haven't tried not putting a speaker load on the taps but based on that diagram I think it is fairly safe. Thanks again!
